HOW IT WORKS
After the prep work is completed (which is almost identical for tar & chip paving, as it is for asphalt paving) a coat of liquid asphalt is applied to the existing surface. This is accomplished carefully in order to apply a consistent amount that is heated to the right temperature.
After the liquid asphalt is applied, a crushed chip stone is spread out on top of the surface. The color of stone varies based on your preference. The stone adheres to the hot liquid asphalt, then a roller is used to embed the stone into the tar. On jobs where multiple courses are required, the entire process is repeated.
